About The Position

Our experienced Highway Transportation Team in Franklin, TN is seeking a civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as a Roadway Design Intern. This internship offers the opportunity to actively participate in plan preparation and design by working alongside our dynamic team and being exposed to many aspects of transportation engineering including highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage designs. Interns will become familiar with relevant DOT standards for highway design and plan preparation, and learn to utilize industry-related design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team. The Garver Launch Program is an immersive hands-on intern development program designed to elevate the summer experience. Interns will engage daily with fellow Garver Launch interns and industry professionals to build their network, participate in Garver's acclaimed wellness program, give back to the community through volunteer activities as part of Garver Gives, and enhance professional growth by collaborating with Garver's Learning and Development team.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
Strong interest in pursuing a career in transportation engineering.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Reliable and responsible individual.
