About The Position
Wight & Company is seeking a talented professional for their Field Transportation & Infrastructure Intern position. This internship offers the opportunity to work on-site at projects in the Chicagoland area, gain valuable experience in overseeing, inspecting, and monitoring contractor operations, and review/correct errors in plans and calculations. Interns will also maintain construction records, attend team and client meetings, and develop strong client relations. The program provides numerous opportunities to network with professionals and other interns across various departments, fostering relationships that can last a career. Requirements
- Current student pursuing Bachelor's/Master's in Civil Engineering
- Interest in Transportation & Infrastructure
- Strong communications skills
- Good organization and computer skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from assigned job site in the Chicagoland area
Nice To Haves
- Past design and/or delivery work experience a plus
- Openness to learn and have fun
Responsibilities
- Oversee, inspect, and monitor contractor's operations under the direction of supervising engineers
- Review, interpret, and correct errors in plans and calculations
- Maintain and organize construction records
- Attend team and client meetings in house and on-site for construction projects
- Develop and maintain strong client relations
