Assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department, including the administration and scheduling of all transportation needs within the scope of available equipment and manpower. The goal is to provide employees and guests with reliable, safe, and timely transportation while minimizing costs. This role involves supervising, administering, and scheduling in-village transportation, employee shuttles, and special guest pick-ups. The position also coordinates daily labor figures, tracks safe driving hours, compiles information for drivers, staffs shuttle stops for guest assistance and crowd control, and conducts driver performance evaluations. The Transportation Foreperson performs office tasks, evaluates inspection reports, assists in training personnel for CDL endorsements, and aids in accident investigations. Effective inter- and intradepartmental communication and on-the-job safety are crucial. The role also involves assisting in developing and communicating departmental goals, operating transportation vehicles, performing basic repairs, and ensuring vehicles are properly started and shut down. Driving a route as necessary and performing all driver duties are also part of the responsibilities. Participation in the DOT/FHWA/FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program is required. This position acts as an ambassador for Copper Mountain, modeling the company culture and striving to exceed guest expectations.
