About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking Fall/Winter 2026 Co-Op Transportation Engineering Students to join their Jacksonville, Florida (FL) office. This is an on-site position designed for college students in a formal co-op program, alternating between academic semesters and professional work experience. It is not a part-time internship.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Actively participating in a formal co-op program through their university.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and quality control deliverables for clients.
  • Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for various projects.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company and client practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Learn software programs specific to their disciplines, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and/or GIS.
