We’re seeking Transportation/Traffic Engineers who bring understanding of safety principles and infrastructure design, and who thrive in collaborative, mission-driven environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of transportation/traffic engineering design experience.
  • Required certifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Experience with NJDOT Roadway Design Guide, MUTCD, AASHTO Green Book

Nice To Haves

  • PE (Professional Engineer), AICP (Certified Planner), RSP (Road Safety Professional).
  • Experience with NJDOT Complete Streets Policy
  • Safe System Approach/Vision Zero concepts
  • Highway Safety Manual (HSM)
  • PROWAG/ADA Standards
  • NJDOT HSIP and/or SHSP publications
  • NACTO publications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as in-house augment staff providing guidance on State, county, and municipal projects.
  • Conduct crash analyses and develop data-driven safety recommendations.
  • Support and manage safety-focused programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordination.
  • Develop safety targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and summary reports.
  • Contribute to Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) activities and implementation.
  • Review Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) assessments and performance plans.
