Transportation Engineer (Traffic/Technology)
About The Position
A multi-state design firm is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer with a focus on Traffic/Technology for their team in Phoenix. This role involves leading and managing innovative traffic engineering and ITS projects from conception to completion, developing and implementing traffic solutions, analyzing traffic data to propose improvements for safety and efficiency, and supervising/mentoring junior staff. The position also requires preparing project proposals, budgets, and timelines, staying updated on industry standards and technological advancements, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 8+ years of experience in traffic engineering, traffic operations, or ITS projects
- PE License
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
- Working knowledge of software including Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, VISSIM or other similar software
Nice To Haves
- Experience with design projects and traffic studies preferred
- Local industry knowledge and experience preferred
