By joining our District 12, PD&P Branch II, Prestonsburg Section as a Transportation Engineer Supervisor in Floyd and Martin County, you’ll have the opportunity to supervise employees in maintenance and construction activities.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed professional engineer by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure.
  • Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a professional engineer.

  • Teamwork
  • Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors OR must be licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license from the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors within the employee's initial six month probationary period.
  • Engineering decisions recommended by individuals without a Kentucky Professional Engineering License must be approved by a KRS Chapter 322 Licensed Professional Engineer until licensure is obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the work of transportation maintenance crews and construction inspector crews.
  • Plans, schedules, and supervises the work and activities of engineering crews on major projects under development, review, construction, or maintenance.
  • Organizing and conducting meetings in the planning, construction and maintenance of projects.
  • Develops and maintains project or program documentation.
  • Meets with local property owners and officials to discuss highway road conditions and needs.
