About The Position

The role of a Transportation EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Transportation EIT will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project. This includes highway and freeway reconstruction and expansion projects, urban street and intersection improvements, rural roadway safety upgrades, pedestrian and bicycle pathway development, roundabout design, transit corridor enhancements, and various interchange designs.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design.
  • Basic understanding of Microstation and OpenRoads and any other relevant design software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • EIT designation or scheduled to take the exam within one year of degree completion.

Responsibilities

  • Assists team in preparing drawings and reports.
  • Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
  • Collaborate with clients and partners to make sure everyone’s happy with the results.
  • Create drawings, specs, and cost estimates that help move projects forward.
  • Jump in on roadway design projects, from start to finish.
