Responsibilities include completing performance evaluations, coaching staff, approving leaves, and ensuring accurate updating of management information systems. The position requires staying updated on new scientific methods, representing the administrator in consultant agreements, and developing/revising policies. It also involves assessing the feasibility of engineering designs, determining testing procedures, and signing plans as a registered professional engineer. The role includes researching plan preparation, reviewing engineering reports, analyzing bids, and training employees in CADD techniques and design processes. Additionally, the position assists with budget preparation, reviews final construction plans, checks and approves designs, administers the construction plan program, and resolves public complaints. The engineer will advise on departmental policy, monitor inventory records, and represent the department at conferences. The role also involves operating a state vehicle for field reviews and attending meetings and training seminars.
