About The Position

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. Transportation Engineer 1 or Transportation Engineer 2 hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program to include a 12 month training plan & scheduled rotation through the department’s core engineering disciplines; Planning & Engineering, Construction and Highway Maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors (for TE1)
• Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors (for TE2)
• 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 1, 85641 (for TE2)
• 2 yrs. engineering related experience (for TE2, as an alternative to 12 mos. exp. as TE1)
• Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration
• Civil Engineering skills
