Requirements

  • Completion of CDL truck driving school
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in route delivery experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in driving straight truck
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid Commercial Driver s License (CDL), Class A or Class B
  • Clean driving record
  • Must pass physical exam

Responsibilities

  • Operate the class of vehicle licensed for
  • Attend to delivery and maintenance details
  • Apply critical thinking principles to determine routes and make other decisions throughout their work
  • Deliver goods on time, safely and according to customer requirements
  • Efficiently deliver product to company satellite locations
  • Rotate and count inventory if necessary
  • Process paperwork accurately
  • Follow driver safety rules and provide professional customer service
  • Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
  • Assist in the warehouse loading trucks, palletizing product, pulling orders, and other essential tasks in conjunction with delivery of product to clients (this responsibility does not apply to employees working in the Rialto or Norwalk locations)
  • Handle company equipment properly
  • Follow written driver safety rules
  • Perform pre-trip inspection
  • Ensure routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes or tire rotations, are performed in a timely manner on the delivery vehicle(s)
  • Report accidents and injuries and any damage to equipment immediately
  • Exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
  • Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
  • Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
