About The Position
The Gables of Canton is looking for an as needed Transport driver to assist in residents to appointments and assist with outings. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
- Ability to safely operate vans, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and lifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in all situations
- Must pass background check, Physical, and drug screening
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience transporting seniors or working in healthcare preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, errands, and scheduled activities while providing exceptional customer service and compassionate care.
- Support residents’ independence, safety, and overall well-being.
- Provide an efficient, exceptional Transport experience with first-class customer service.
- Safely transport residents to appointments, shopping trips, community outings, and facility activities.
- Assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Ensure wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices are properly secured.
- Maintain a friendly, respectful, and professional attitude toward residents, families, and staff.
- Follow all traffic laws and facility transportation policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Keep transportation vehicles clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and appointment schedules.
- Communicate delays, incidents, or resident concerns to management.
- Assist with resident activities or other duties as assigned when transportation needs are limited.
