USESI is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic yard jockey to join our Distribution Team. This position will be located in our Cranbury, NJ location.
Requirements
- Proficiency in route-planning and fleet management software, such as Innovo, or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail for scheduling, compliance, and tracking routes efficiently.
- Ability to think on your feet, especially under pressure, to manage delays or unforeseen obstacles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with drivers, managers, and customers.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to ensure efficient route management.
- High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to move heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be dependable and team-oriented
Nice To Haves
- A degree in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching is often preferred.
- Certification in transportation logistics or fleet management is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize transportation routes using route-planning software to minimize travel time, fuel costs, and operational expenses.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and Transportation Manager to confirm routes, adjust, and solve any issues that arise during transit.
- Monitor active routes and respond to delays, traffic issues, or unexpected changes, adjusting as needed to maintain schedules.
- Ensure all routes comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation, driver safety, and hours of service.
