Arcadis is seeking a talented Civil Designer for our growing Toronto West office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a focus on Transportation or Municipal
  • 1-2 years of experience that includes exposure to highway design, municipal and civil engineering and transportation planning.
  • Must possess a collaborative attitude in working with other members of a road and transportation team
  • Demonstrate attitude to contribute to the planning, preliminary, and detailed design of roadways and highways.
  • General knowledge of municipal and provincial design standards (e.g., TAC, OTM, MTO Design Supplements)
  • Understand and Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and design calculations.

Nice To Haves

  • Co-op student experience in the area of Transportation is very welcome.
  • Experience in Microstation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, InRoads and Civil 3D would be welcome.
  • Exposure to engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications using tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD, Civil 3D

Responsibilities

  • To function as a civil designer on various infrastructure projects with a focus on detail design for municipal and provincial/linear infrastructure projects
  • Preparation of preliminary and detail design covering all facets of Civil engineering
  • Coordination with CAD standards group to maintain standards
  • Design coordination with other design disciplines
  • Assist Intermediate and senior designers with sketches, drafting, design investigation, evaluation of alternatives related to highway design
  • Willing to learn or improve software skills on drafting and 3D modelling and implement them in highway projects.
