About The Position

The Vending Services Route Driver is responsible for maintaining an assigned vending route, including stocking and servicing beverage and snack vending machines. This role utilizes various technology platforms (inventory software, reports, iPads, and mobile applications) to manage stock levels and prepare products for machines. The driver will analyze inventory reports to determine proper product mix and maintain machine planograms and pricing. They will also test vending equipment during route stops, identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate functionality issues as needed. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and working alongside student employees during the academic year to ensure routes are completed efficiently and on time. The driver will transport product from delivery trucks to campus buildings using dollies, carts, hand jacks, electric jacks, or forklifts, and operate University vehicles, including box trucks, to deliver and distribute products to specified campus locations. General warehousing and distribution duties will be performed on a regular basis, with the majority of the workday spent on campus completing assigned route stops.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and one year of moving, delivery, warehousing, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered material-handling equipment.
  • Proficiency using computer programs, mobile applications, and iPads for inventory and route management.
  • Knowledge of safe moving techniques and material-handling procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to complete assigned routes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with student employees.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues.
