About The Position

NRT Bus, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to supervise and advise 30-60 drivers and monitors. This role is responsible for developing and implementing efficient routes across several regions, considering individual client needs. The coordinator will assign drivers based on their skills and performance, ensuring accurate and pleasant communication with all parties involved. This position requires problem-solving skills, maintaining professional relationships with guardians, clients, program staff, customer staff, and company employees. The role involves reinforcing compliance with company policies, developing driver skills, and promoting good performance through positive support. The coordinator will also provide emergency backup for absent drivers and build positive relationships with those supervised, understanding and addressing their challenges. A professional rapport with customers, including programs, guardians, special needs clients, and customer contacts from contracting organizations, is essential. The position also requires maintaining detailed and organized records for monthly billing.

Requirements

  • Prior supervising experience.
  • Self-motivated, show initiative, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Like solving problems.
  • Ability to learn the programs, clients, and employees sufficiently to determine appropriate assignments.
  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Exhibit good technology skills; experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook), Google Chrome, Android tablets, etc.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record and driver’s license.
  • Respond to coverage needs as required.
  • Able to work comfortably in a small and busy office environment.
  • Able to sit, stand, stretch, reach, lift and walk during an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with ever-changing assignments.
  • Flexible schedule including early morning shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and advise 30-60 drivers and monitors.
  • Develop and implement efficient routes across several regions with regard to individual client needs.
  • Assign driver assignments that reflect knowledge and good judgment regarding employee skills and performance.
  • Receive, record, retrieve and deliver messages accurately, clearly and pleasantly.
  • Routinely solve operational problems, while maintaining cordial, professional relations with guardians, clients, program staff, customer staff, and all Company employees.
  • Maintain and reinforce compliance with Company policies through dispatch and direct observation.
  • Develop driver skills through discussion and example.
  • Promote good performance through positive support and recommend reassignment or appropriate discipline for non-compliance with Company rules or standards.
  • Spend sufficient time behind the wheel to know the routes, the clients, the drivers, and the programs and facilities.
  • Observe and supervise drivers in action, provide emergency back-up for absent drivers.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with those you supervise; understand and address the challenges they face.
  • Develop and maintain a professional rapport with all of our customers which includes but not limited to; programs, guardians, special needs clients of all ages and customer contacts from the organizations with whom we contract.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records to accurately perform monthly billing.
