The Transportation Coordinator oversees all PACE participant transportation to and from the PACE Center as well as to and from all approved appointments outside of the PACE Center. Coordination of drivers, vans and any necessary support staff is supported by the Transportation Coordinator who will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to communicate any pertinent updates or planning. Additionally, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of UHC owned transportation passenger vehicles. Review of all owned transportation vehicles is scheduled and audited by this role. The performance of a mechanical check prior to vehicle operation is expected each day. Work involves assisting passengers as they step on and off the vehicle and also includes assisting wheelchair bound patients. Work involves considerable contact with the public and requires the exercise of tact, judgment and diplomacy. Additionally, all missed trips, transportation breakdowns and rescheduled trips are reviewed and corrected through this role. Finally, the Transportation Coordinator ensures a smooth and well-connected participant flow with the PACE center supporting all recreation therapy, dining, rehabilitation and health center visits.
