About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator is an entry-level contributor that provides administrative support to the Supply Chain department through the administration of contracts and accounts as well as analysis of common carrier freight expenses. This role will work closely with Logistics, Distribution, and Transportation teams to facilitate the smooth execution of transportation plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 0-2 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite products and other various software systems preferred.

  • Applies conceptual knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the department by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase requisitions, and track orders as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Oversee multiple maintenance requests and payments, audit and troubleshoot billing and G/L coding issues.
  • Reviews transportation expenditures for reduction opportunities.
  • Actively participate in group activities and collaborate with team.
  • Participate in generating alternative solutions and evaluating their feasibility.
  • Provide basic analysis and apply knowledge from experience or standard procedure to solve problems.
  • Identify, define, and address problems that are standard, readily identifiable, and typically within the immediate job area.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
