About The Position

Our Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the transportation and distribution of products necessary to meet business needs while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. This role involves prioritizing product waves, processing rapid deliveries, ensuring efficient order grouping, and adhering to warehouse picking guidelines. The coordinator will analyze transportation needs, re-assign carriers, and manage the dispatch of outbound trailers. Additionally, they will generate reports, manage shipping status data, troubleshoot errors, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards, including meeting ANSI Z75 standards. Familiarity with a computerized warehouse system is preferred.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of related job experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
• Warehouse experience required preferably working in a distribution environment.
• Ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack.
• Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter.
• Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.
• Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance .
• Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.
• Kneeling - kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.

• Familiarity with a computerized warehouse system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize “waves” of product to be picked to meet priorities of established shipping schedules and work with inventory control as needed to resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Process rapid delivery, courier and will calls on an hourly or as needed basis.
• Ensure orders are grouped and then released in the most efficient manner.
• Responsible for adhering to the rules and guidelines by which product will be picked in the warehouse to fulfill customer orders.
• Analyze the optimal number of trucks/containers needed to transport product shipments based on the required schedule.
• Re-assign carriers for customer orders as needed.
• Close and dispatch all outbound trailers daily (nightly) prior to end of shift.
• Generate orders and metric reports to warehouse workers; print and reprint labels, check inventory status, input data for shipping status, create shipping manifest, troubleshoot, and correct errors in wave batches.
• Follow mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
• Adhere to the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace.
• Must meet ANSI Z75 standard.
• Perform additional duties as required.
