About The Position

This position will assist in the daily customer service and administrative activities of the Transportation Department to ensure accurate and prompt delivery of service to our customers. This is a fast-paced job and often requires multitasking.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Experience using Microsoft products such as Word and Excel required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field preferred
Warehouse loading experience preferred
Experience in the food industry is a plus
Experience in transportation or logistics is a plus

Responsibilities

Provides driver support to drivers on dispatch/route/tractor/trailer issues during the night
Ensure drivers are leaving within 15 minutes of their dispatch time.
Identify the reason for any late leave-outs.
Check Drivers delivery status using electronic log system and update the Transportation/Dispatch Manager with all concerns
Send late truck report to distribution list, contact affected customers, track and update as needed throughout the day
Communicate with Sales, Purchasing, Customers, and Drivers concerning delivery appointment times, and ETA
Book hotel rooms for drivers as needed
Work with Shipping/Welcome Center to identify which outside carriers have or have not checked in
Monitor trailer temperature alarms
Identify and correct any weight distribution problems with the trailers
Use of single/double electric jack or walk behind as necessary
Optimize Routes in Multimode dispatch and update trailer numbers for all routes
Additional duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
