About The Position

AGL is looking for a Transportation Coordinator to work in Fort Carson, CO. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the inbound and outbound movement of Army equipment and materiel during the turn-in process at a contractor-operated site. This role ensures that all shipments are conducted in compliance with Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR), U.S. Army transportation policies, and contract requirements, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting accountability of government property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 3–5 years of transportation or logistics coordination (Army contractor or military environment strongly preferred).
  • Prior experience with Army turn-in or SSA operations highly desirable.
  • Army regulations: AR 55-355, AR 710-2, AR 735-5, and DTR 4500.9-R.
  • Familiarity with Army systems: TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP.
  • Transportation documentation standards and cargo securement practices.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare Army transportation forms.
  • Excellent communication skills with Army personnel and contractor staff.
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT handling, DOT/OSHA safety, and load securement.
  • Must have a valid driver's license w/proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must be able to attain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be willing to travel for 90 continuous days, up to 110 days with an extension.
  • Must be willing to work a schedule that is 90 days travel and 90 days home continuous throughout employment.
  • Must possess a valid passport or be able to acquire a passport within 120 days of employment
  • Must have a valid REAL ID.
  • Must be able to travel 75% of the time.

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate receipt and shipment of vehicles, equipment, and repair parts turned in by Army units.
  • Develop and manage shipment schedules to avoid bottlenecks during mass turn-in operations.
  • Liaise with unit supply personnel, warehouse staff, and drivers to ensure smooth cargo flow.
  • Prepare and process shipping/receiving documents, including DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 1149, bills of lading, TCMDs, and load plans.
  • Enter movement data into Army logistics/transportation systems (TC-AIMS II, GCSS-Army, DPAS).
  • Maintain shipping and receiving logs for audit readiness under ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
  • Ensure compliance with DTR 4500.9-R, AR 55-355, AR 710-2, and AR 735-5.
  • Verify proper HAZMAT packaging, marking, and labeling for transportation.
  • Enforce cargo securement and vehicle safety inspections in line with Army and OSHA standards.
  • Provide daily and weekly movement status reports to the Site Manager and COR (Contracting Officer’s Representative).
  • Track key performance metrics such as on-time shipments, cargo discrepancies, and transit delays.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Army units on transportation-related matters, assisting with shipment discrepancies or documentation issues.
