About The Position

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to join their team in Columbus. This role is responsible for managing shipments, negotiating rates, and ensuring timely delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will be safety-oriented, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate rates with carriers
• Manage shipments by building loads and establishing a shipping plan to ensure customers’ needs are met or exceeded
• Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of shipments and/or receipts
• Maintain open communication and good relationships with carriers, customers and/or suppliers
• Track shipments from release of material to transportation to delivery to the customer
• Trouble shooting
• Freight invoice approval
• Meeting or exceeding department key measurements
