Transportation Coordinator - Tracking and Tracing
About The Position
This role is part of Ravago’s Domestic Transportation Department, which supports approximately 30 of Ravago’s Business Divisions, manages a transportation budget of ~$125M, and handles ~150,000 shipments annually. As a Tracking & Tracing Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely communication of any delays or deviations from requested pickup and required delivery to all affected parties. You will be expected to proactively follow up on all pickups and deliveries to allow the Transportation team to respond effectively to any delays. Additionally, you will manage the delay reason coding for all delayed shipments, which is crucial for identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures. This role requires close collaboration with the rest of the Transportation team to assist with rescheduling pickups, arranging redeliveries and expedites, and keeping all necessary parties informed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of transportation modes and warehouse operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in transportation and/or warehousing preferred.
- Valid driver’s license – required.
- Proficiency in English required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Bi-Lingual – Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Act as a direct contact for Account Managers, Customer Service Representatives, Product Coordinators, and Management for any follow up on delayed shipments.
- Track and trace all shipments within a timeframe that allows for proactive responses to delays.
- Keep delay reason coding up to date.
- Complete follow up on all pickup and deliveries in a time frame that allows for a proactive response from the rest of the Transportation team.
- Manage the delay reason coding for all delayed shipments and determine how to prevent them.
- Ensure the entire month is coded by the following week of a new month to allow for complete monthly reports to the commercial teams.
- Support excellent carrier and warehouse relationships.
- Maintain TMS updates (OTM and Project44).
- Provide rotational afterhours coverage for 2-3 weeks of the year.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
