Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Five years of experience in construction inspection, three of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, and graduation from high school or equivalent certification or formal training.
  • Possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation.
  • An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction activities across multiple sites to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Interpret project designs, resolve discrepancies, and provide direction to maintain project quality
  • Work with municipalities, utilities, property owners, and emergency services to address issues and maintain progress
  • Prepare reports, track materials, process work orders, and oversee project records and payments
  • Assign tasks, evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and manage training and personnel needs
  • Oversee inspections, review designs for constructability, and support scheduling and environmental practices
