This role provides supervision, inspection, and office support within the Permit Unit to ensure timely and accurate issuance of Highway Occupancy Permits. This specialized work helps maintain safe, compliant, and well-organized construction activities across county roadways. As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will perform the following duties: Office Supervision: Oversee operations of the county permit office and guide staff in reviewing and issuing permits Staff Management: Plan and assign duties, review performance, and maintain professional working relationships Field Inspection: Inspect materials and workmanship on permit-related construction such as excavation, drainage, and guiderail work Regulation Review: Interpret standards and make independent decisions to resolve on-site technical issues Plan Evaluation: Review plans, verify submissions, and determine restoration and sight distance requirements through field measurements Compliance Monitoring: Identify violations, prescribe corrective actions, and verify that permitted work meets department regulations.
