About The Position

This position is for a Transportation Engineer 1/Transportation Civil Engineer (TCE) within the Construction Department, PN 20054264. The work location is District 4 Headquarters in Akron, OH. The hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program, which includes a 12-month training plan and scheduled rotations through the department’s core engineering disciplines: Planning & Engineering, Construction, and Highway Maintenance. You will receive a thorough introduction to these disciplines, work alongside ODOT professional engineers, and gain hands-on transportation training and experience to further your career with ODOT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • All candidates applying for employment opportunities should be authorized to work in the United States.
  • The final candidate for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
