About The Position

Allison Pointe Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Transportation Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position. The purpose of the Transportation Assistant is to assist residents with transportation to and from inside the facility and outside physician appointments and events in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures. This position requires effective collaboration with team members to ensure work completion and quality care delivery, supporting colleagues and celebrating team successes. While focusing on quality resident care, the position must also manage available resources.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or G. E. D. equivalent
  • Must possess a current, valid Driver’s License in State of employment.
  • CNA required
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment.
  • Must possess Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
  • Prior work/life experiences involving independent decision making
  • Prior work/life experiences, preferably in healthcare or a service industry
  • Compassionate and enthusiastic personality

Responsibilities

  • Transport and assist residents, per facility vehicle, to outside physician visits in a safe manner.
  • Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled specialty appointments, i.e. podiatry, audiology, optometry, dental, etc.
  • Assist with transporting residents to and from scheduled in-house activities.
  • Provide one on one monitoring for residents deemed an elopement risk on outside visits.
  • Perform basic nursing care procedures for residents as required.
  • Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and assure that their needs are met.
  • Maintain resident documentation records.
  • Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
