About The Position

The Transportation Analyst oversees transportation processes for customer products from pickup through delivery, ensuring load information is accurate and coordinating with internal and external resources to troubleshoot issues and resolve them promptly. The role communicates daily with Carrier Management, Customer Service, and the distribution network, and supports carriers and customers to promote operational excellence. This hybrid position is based in the Des Plaines, Illinois office, with on-site attendance required four days per week or as otherwise directed. The stated schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, though hours may vary by shift assignment and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 3 years of experience in transportation.
Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

Specialization in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
Experience working with a transportation management system (TMS).

Responsibilities

Resolve transportation issues to the original commitment or the next best alternative.
Facilitate corrective actions on loads.
Communicate with shippers about production issues.
Record and report accountability using recall reports.
Conduct daily update calls with stakeholders.
Create daily summary reports and send them to CJ Logistics’ leadership team.
Assign after-hours coverage and manage the schedule.
Interpret instructions provided in written, oral, or schedule form.
Determine and enter primary and secondary late-reason codes.
Use analytical, practical, and critical-thinking skills to solve problems.
Identify, measure, and manage key performance indicators.
Work with customer service representatives, plant/DC personnel, and carriers to resolve service issues.
Participate in on-call coverage and a Saturday rotation if required.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
