Transportation Aide
About The Position
Moves patients to and from clinical, ancillary, surgery and support areas via wheelchair, bed or stretcher as requested to include transport of patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, Foley catheters and other special equipment. Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
- Knowledgeable in medical terminology
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language
- Ability to transport patients to various hospital locations
- Physical condition and emotional stability adequate to meet the demands of the position
- Able to push/pull an occupied patient bed
Nice To Haves
- Previous employment in a healthcare setting i.e., CNA, Rehab technician, EMT, ED technician.
