About The Position

The Transportation Aide/Van Driver assists with transporting facility patients and residents. The role escorts patients and residents between their assigned rooms, vehicles, and appointments, and drives facility vehicles to and from appointments. The aide reports incidents, accidents, changes in a patient’s or resident’s condition, requests, problems, and complaints to their supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent.
Class E Driver’s License.
Ability to operate an automobile.
Valid, unencumbered driver’s license in the state of operation, with no motor vehicle violations, including driving under the influence or related charges.
Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience transporting patients or residents for a hospital or nursing home is preferred.

Responsibilities

Escort patients/residents from assigned rooms to and from vehicles and appointments as needed.
Drive facility vehicles to transport patients/residents to and from appointments.
Report incidents, accidents, changes in a patient’s/resident’s condition, requests, problems, and complaints to the supervisor.
