About The Position

The primary purpose of this job position is to provide transportation services in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and Director of Nursing. The employee must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Assures personal and staff compliance with all State, Federal, and local laws, rules, and regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety. Assures personal and staff compliance with residents’ rights. Immediately reports any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs to the Administrator or designee. Maintains compliance with facility polices and procedures including the facility polices for Van inspections, and emergencies. Complies with all traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Pick up, drop off, and wait for, if necessary, residents at scheduled locations while adhering to strict time schedules. Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Escort residents in and out of appointments. Keep vehicle interiors clean for passengers. Maintain knowledge of first-aide procedures. Maintain order among residents during trips, in order to ensure safety. Prepare and submit reports as designated by the Administrator and/or DON which may include number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption. Immediately report any events or occurrences with residents to the DON and Administrator.

Requirements

  • Must have active Florida CNA license
  • Maintain Clear and Active Driver’s license
  • Requires a Level II background screening with eligible status.
  • Employee is required to immediately report to the Administrator any events or occurrence which may affect the employee’s driver license or background screening status.
  • Ability to follow direction.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with residents and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate, on an ongoing basis, the ability safely operate motor vehicles.
  • Successfully compete facility required orientation and ongoing trainings as designated by the Administrator and Director of Nursing (DON) to include polices on Abuse Prohibition.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
