Transport Tech
About The Position
The Transport Tech is responsible for safely and courteously transporting patients between nursing units, diagnostic areas, and other departments. This role involves operating designated patient transport elevators to ensure efficiency and comfort, while treating every patient and guest with dignity, empathy, and respect. The Transport Tech will communicate all stages of patient transport clearly with the dispatcher and collaborate effectively with nursing staff, ancillary departments, and medical center personnel. Proactive reporting of delays, barriers, or service issues, and escalation of patient-experience concerns are also key aspects of this role. Prioritizing patient, visitor, and coworker safety at all times, using transport equipment safely and correctly, and immediately reporting unsafe equipment or practices to leadership are essential. The role requires delivering timely, reliable patient transport while meeting productivity expectations, attending required trainings, in-services, and staff meetings, and following all departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Initiative to support continuous improvement across departments is encouraged. Maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and protecting patient and guest privacy during all interactions and transports are paramount.
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma
