About The Position

The Patient Transport Specialist is responsible for safely transporting patients between the clinic parking areas and the facility entrance using a golf cart. This role assists patients entering and exiting their vehicles and provides mobility support to ensure a safe, welcoming, and patient-centered experience. The Transport Specialist plays a key role in enhancing patient satisfaction by promoting safety, courtesy, and professionalism throughout all patient interactions.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
Ability to operate a golf cart safely and responsibly.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassionate, patient-centered demeanor.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Capacity to assist patients with mobility and transfers safely.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Capable of lifting or supporting up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Ability to bend, reach, and assist patients in and out of vehicles.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a golf cart safely within the clinic parking lot to transport patients to and from the facility entrance.
Assist patients entering and exiting the golf cart in a safe and courteous manner.
Aid patients with vehicle entry and exit when needed.
Offer wheelchair support and mobility assistance as appropriate.
Monitor parking areas for patients who may require assistance.
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
Ensure safe transport by following established traffic and safety guidelines.
Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents or hazards.
Report any safety concerns, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly.
Adhere to HIPAA standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
Perform basic daily inspections of the golf cart to ensure safe operation.
Keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
Report mechanical or maintenance issues immediately.
Communicate effectively with front desk and clinical staff regarding patient needs.
Assist with directing patients and visitors to appropriate clinic areas.
Support other operational needs assigned during slower periods.
