About The Position

The Transport Services Associate transports patients, medical records, mail, specimens, equipment, and materials throughout the facility. The role also serves as a hospital ambassador, providing information and directions to patients and visitors, and maintains transportation equipment in clean, good working order. The position requires compliance with ethical and legal standards, company policies, HIPAA privacy requirements, and information-security guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to maintain the highest measure of confidentiality.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain working relationships with internal and external departments and customers at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in dealing with customer service.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Transport inpatients and outpatients within the facility from their initial location to their destination.
• Deliver equipment, materials, and specimens to requesting departments, including through use of the pneumatic tube system.
• Serve as a hospital ambassador and provide information and directions to patients and visitors.
• Keep transportation equipment clean and in good working order.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
• Protect confidential information and comply with HIPAA, information-security guidelines, the Code of Business Conduct, and applicable laws and company policies.
