About The Position

Transport Driver is responsible for transporting and offloading Propane and Petroleum products and raw materials to wholesale customers and retail bulk facilities. Requirements

  • Must have valid Class A, CDL with Hazmat & Tanker Endorsement (X Endorsement) required
  • TWIC Card required
  • 3 year CDL Class A experience required
  • Must be able to pass PERC and NORA Training
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license with Haz Mat & Tanker Endorsement
  • Must provide driving record with under 2 points

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year Hazmat experience preferred
  • Desire to grow and accelerate with the company
  • 1 – 2 years driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Loads, secures, transports, and delivers, and unloads propane / petroleum to and from specified destinations.
  • Inspects transport vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
  • Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures.
  • Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
  • Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states.
  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
  • Take orders for new delivers.
  • Drive long distances.
  • Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
  • Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
  • Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Inspect their trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects they find.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Keep a log of their activities.
  • Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
  • Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
  • Get goods to client on time.
  • Take rest periods during trip.
  • Transport hazardous materials.
  • Take special precautions while driving.
  • Buy or lease trucks from other companies.
  • Find and keep clients.
  • Maintain log of trips.
