About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. The Transport Paramedic provides advanced life support emergency care and transportation to the sick and/or injured.

Requirements

  • Minimum: One (1) year paramedic experience or related experience.
  • Licensed Florida Paramedic.
  • Must possess a State of Florida Class “E” Drivers License.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • HAZ-MAT Awareness.
  • Completion of 16 hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
  • Must meet all current requirements of Chapter 64 J-1 Florida Administrative Code and all applicable Florida Statutes for Paramedics.
  • Incumbent operates a TMH vehicle and requires a valid state driver license.
  • Required to be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and with a minimum of two (2) years of licensed driving experience.
  • Required to provide a seven (7)- year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) prior to employment.
  • Will have received no more than two (2) minor violations in the past three (3) years and zero (0) major violations in the past five (5) years.
  • All Certifications and Licenses are required at the time of appointment.
  • All Certificates and Licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certificate (PALS).
  • Basic Trauma Life Support certificate (BTLS).
