About The Position

This position provides approved transportation services to elders, patients, and beneficiaries in accordance with CRNA’s Promise Statement and directives. This is a temporary position covering from June 22 to the end of August.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Alaska driver’s license, with satisfactory driving history to qualify for company insurance.
Complete internal customer service training within one year of employment.
Complete Patient Care Attendant (PCA) certification within one year of employment or as offered.
Complete Defensive Driving Course within thirty (30) days of employment.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance needs, including emergency roadside repairs (e.g., fix/change a flat tire).
Ability to assist with the usage of handicapped accessibility equipment.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under emergency situations, and with others when rendering care.
Strong understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native population.
Strong written, analytical, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Effective oral and written communications skills with sensitivity to lifestyles of targeted participants.
Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA, other regulations and organization matters.
Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, including outside contacts.
Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
First Aid/CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire for required positions.
Annual TB screens for required positions.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of experience in Customer Service and/or Transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide transportation to medical facilities and specialty clinics in accordance with program policies.
Assist Clients in and out of patient transport vehicles.
Remain available for duty as indicated on the Monthly Drivers Schedule.
Make round trips to transport clients to and/or from medical facilities in Anchorage or Fairbanks.
Maintain periodic contact with the supervisor when on long distance transports, via cell phone.
Perform daily vehicle inspections prior to use, and report any issues to supervisor.
Maintain trip log throughout the day, following policy and procedure.
Responsible for cleaning out fleet vehicles as needed, and at end of shift.
Maintain confidentiality in regards to the patient and program matters, and carryout rules of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which protects patient rights.
Perform other duties as assigned.
