This position involves driving a tractor/trailer truck for local regional deliveries (up to a 275-mile radius) of finished products or raw materials/supplies to company distribution and manufacturing centers. The driver will also work in the warehouse when not driving. The role requires obtaining proper authorization for all transports/pick-ups, inspecting the vehicle for safe operating conditions before and after each trip, and maintaining a DOT driver's log in adherence to all DOT regulations. The job involves working with tractor/trailer components, including bending and cranking landing gear, climbing in and out of cabs, and sitting for extended periods. This is a no-touch freight position, and the driver will be home daily. The primary accountabilities include delivering finished products or raw materials, ensuring the safety and compliance of the load, maintaining DOT driver logs and other required transport documentation, and ensuring regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Pre and post-trip inspections are also a key responsibility.
