This position is responsible for the transport of solid waste from a Transfer Station to the landfill following a designated route. The driver is responsible for the safe operation, care and appearance of assigned vehicle.

Requirements

Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of tools (screwdriver, wrench, etc.) and how to use them.
Requires a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License and good driving record.
Minimum of three years prior experience in the operation of Class A CDL vehicles.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Transport solid waste to designated site.
Monitor condition of mechanical equipment and notifies appropriate shop personnel of needed repairs or any operational problems.
Observe all safety guidelines and policies as initiated by the NTMWD.
Responsible for maintaining thorough and complete process records and logs.
May be responsible for responding to various emergency situations as directed by supervisor.
