About The Position

The Transport Aide safely transports residents to and from the facility’s on-site dialysis unit and assists with resident comfort, hydration, and basic non-clinical support throughout the facility. The role helps ensure residents arrive at appointments safely, on time, and with dignity while supporting the nursing team with additional duties as assigned. The position is per diem, as needed, at Riverstreet Manor in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• Hold an active CNA license in Pennsylvania.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be dependable, timely, and friendly, with good phone skills and excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents served.
• Successfully complete facility orientation and required training.
• Successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen.
• Be able to push wheelchairs, transport residents safely, and frequently walk, bend, lift, and stand.
• Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance when appropriate.

Nice To Haves

• Previous long-term care, healthcare, transportation, or hospitality experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Recreation Director and Recreation Assistant to transport residents to scheduled activities.
• Coordinate with facility medical and nursing personnel to transport residents to scheduled medical appointments.
• Use protective clothing or devices when handling infectious waste, blood, or body fluids.
• Ensure emergency equipment, including triangles, a fire extinguisher, and a first-aid kit, is available and in good working condition.
• Use supplies efficiently to avoid waste.
• Help move and arrange equipment and supplies so the facility vehicle is ready for scheduled appointments and activities.
• Assist residents when entering and exiting the facility vehicle.
• Support resident comfort, hydration, and basic non-clinical needs.
