Transport Attendant- Patient Transportation- Full-Time Variable Shifts
About The Position
Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and therapists to perform their duties in an effective manner. Ensures positive patient customer satisfaction, proper utilization of body mechanics, adherence to policies, procedures and standards established by Shands, and the departmental management. Transports patients in wheelchairs, beds, stretchers or wagons to patient care areas, ancillary areas, various outpatient clinics, and for discharge from the hospital.
Requirements
- Ability to follow oral as well as written instructions.
- Ability to recognize medical emergencies.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant or patient contact experience preferred.
- Current enrollment in a Health Related educational program desirable.
