About The Position

The Army Aviation – Transport Aircraft - Tool & Parts Attendant (Army UC-35) receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment. This role involves keeping records of tools issued and returned, searching for lost tools, preparing inventories, and requisitioning stock as needed. The attendant also unpacks and stores new equipment, visually inspects tools for wear or defects, and reports damaged equipment. Additional duties may include coating tools with preservatives and attaching identification tags or engraving identifying information.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or GED Equivalent is Required.
  • Minimum of One (1) year actual hands-on experience in repair, modification, and maintenance of systems related to individual specialty codes.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths.
  • Personnel within this classification must be specialized in one or more of the following SCA Occupational Codes: 21210- Tools and Parts Attendant and 21210 Tool and Parts Attendant (FS-4002a rev. 9/01/06).
  • A valid Driver's License required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Govt Security Clearance, and for facility credentials, base access and authorization to work at this site/facility.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to six hours per day and sit for up to two hours per day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sounds.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.

Nice To Haves

  • Military and/or specialized training school is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in industrial establishment.
  • Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers.
  • Searches for lost or misplaced tools.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed.
  • Unpacks and stores new equipment.
  • Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometers for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors.
  • May coat tools with grease or other preservatives, using brush or spray gun.
  • May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment, using electric marking tool.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
