Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• A minimum of five (5) years experience in outpatient group medical practice and/or inpatient acute care setting, with progressively increasing scope of administrative experience and responsibilities, including patient intake, medical terminology, CPT & ICD coding, third party payer referrals and authorizations, third party payer billing and reimbursement, and managed care experience
• Knowledge of federal and state End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) financial and regulatory guidelines
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate effectively
• Proficiency in software applications

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree
• Proficiency in Medicare cost reporting, especially organ acquisition Medicare cost reporting
• Transplant administrative experience
• IDX Billing Accounts Receivable (BAR), IDX Hospital Patient Accounts Billing System (HPA)
• Accredited Record Technician (ART) and/or Registered Record Administrator (RRA)

Responsibilities

• Manage complex financial aspects of organ transplantation, guiding patients through costs and ensuring financial clearance.
• Serve as a crucial liaison between patients, insurers, and the transplant team.
• Verify insurance, secure pre-authorizations, counsel patients financially, and assist with aid applications.
• Collaborate with the transplant team and payers to streamline processes and resolve issues, fundamentally reducing financial barriers for transplant candidates.
