About The Position

Coordinates all potential transplant patient evaluations and is responsible for the preliminary review of the medical/surgical history and pre-op studies. Coordinates care needs, provides education, and continued follow-up during the post-transplant period. Coordinates and assists the surgeons and pulmonologists with pre-transplant and post-transplant evaluations; serves as liaison for transplant surgeons, pulmonologists, consulting services, pulmonary rehab facilities, dietetics, social services, behavioral medicine and insurance company representatives/case mangers. Develops and presents educational programs for patients and medical and nursing staff in the Central Ohio and referral areas. Assists with coordination and submission of annual statistics to national organizations, government and regulatory agencies. Provides on-call support for the lung transplant program on a rotating basis with other coordinator staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
  • Current Ohio licensure.
  • Prior medical/surgical experience required.
  • Current Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification or ability to successfully obtain certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Flexible, sensitive and adaptable to transplant activities.
