The Transmission Right of Way (TROW) Agent is responsible for the acquisition of land rights necessary for the construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission and/or distribution facilities. This role involves handling complicated negotiations with landowners, settling damage claims, researching property ownership, and interpreting legal documents. The agent will also prepare legal documents for land rights acquisition, provide functional support to other AEP Business Units, and maintain property owner files and progress reports. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of real estate values and appraisal practices, completion of ROW estimates and scopes for TROW Projects, and management of project scope, schedule, and budget. The agent will also follow TROW Outsourcing Technical Guidelines, act as a liaison or project manager with vendor companies, and provide project oversight. Responsibilities include reviewing periodic status and costs of managed right-of-way projects, tracking project quality, milestones, and performance, monitoring the closeout process, and approving vouchers for payments. The agent may also act as a witness in condemnation and court actions and represent Transmission Right-of-Way in internal and external process improvement teams. Supporting and holding employees and contractors accountable for the AEP System Safety Process to ensure a safe working environment is also a key responsibility.
