About The Position

We are hiring an experienced Transmission Line Technician to join our dealership service team. This position offers $100,000+ earning potential, with pay determined by experience, certifications, and productivity. We’re looking for a technician who knows transmissions, works efficiently, and takes pride in doing repairs correctly the first time. Previous dealership experience is required.

Requirements

  • Professional automotive repair experience required
  • Previous dealership experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid mechanical and diagnostic abilities
  • Comfortable using electronic diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and specialty service equipment
  • Able to read and apply technical repair information, specifications, and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate, high-quality repairs
  • Able to communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts personnel, technicians, and management
  • Willing to participate in ongoing technical training and maintain required certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in transmission diagnosis, repair, and service preferred
  • Ford/Lincoln certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair transmission and drivetrain concerns on customer vehicles
  • Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, service information, and testing procedures to identify problems and determine the proper repair
  • Perform transmission removal, installation, rebuilding, servicing, and component replacement as required
  • Follow repair orders and complete assigned work accurately and efficiently
  • Inspect related vehicle systems and identify additional repairs when necessary
  • Perform road tests to confirm repairs and ensure the vehicle is operating properly
  • Work closely with Service Advisors to explain diagnostic results, repair needs, and recommended services
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department to source the correct components and materials for each repair
  • Record diagnostic results, parts used, and completed repairs accurately on repair orders
  • Follow manufacturer repair procedures, specifications, and dealership quality standards
  • Keep current with technical service bulletins, factory updates, and changes in repair procedures
  • Complete required manufacturer and dealership training to stay up to date with new vehicle technology
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and protect the customer’s vehicle while it is being serviced
  • Properly maintain tools, equipment, and shop areas
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as directed by management
