Assist in the installation, maintenance, rearrangement, operation, removal, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment. This role requires the successful candidate to reside within 45 minutes of the service center. The job involves performing duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules, regulations, and practices, and reporting unsafe conditions. It also includes assembling, installing, maintaining, removing, and inspecting conductors, fixtures, and other associated equipment on overhead facilities. During the initial six months, employees must demonstrate proficiency in operating company equipment, climbing poles and structures, working from bucket trucks or ladders, and being comfortable working at heights. The role involves supplying necessary tools and equipment to employees working aloft, assisting in setting poles (including in energized areas with proper safety procedures), and cutting, spraying, or stacking trees and brush for transmission right-of-way control. Under direct supervision, assist in using live line tools, bare-hand techniques, rubber gloves and sleeves, and other accepted work methods for transmission line maintenance. Operate various types of automotive equipment, including line trucks with derricks and earth-boring equipment, truck-tractors, trailers, and winches for transporting materials and personnel. Identify and understand the purpose of all personal protective equipment, including rubber gloves, blankets, temporary grounds, live line tools, and construction/maintenance tools. Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean and orderly condition, and submit required records and reports. Assist employees of equal or higher classification, attend and participate in training, and assist in training other employees. Perform similar or less skilled work as needed.
