It provides engineering support and leadership across transmission line projects from planning and design through construction and commissioning. The position combines engineering office work with periodic field and project-site activities. Travel to transmission facilities, construction sites, supplier facilities, or other project locations may be required. A hybrid work arrangement may be available depending on business and project needs. The employer provides equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants and employees consistent with applicable law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Approximately 6+ years of transmission, power delivery, utility, or related engineering experience; additional experience may qualify candidates for higher-level roles.
  • Working knowledge of transmission line design principles and components.
  • Experience with PLS-CADD or similar transmission design software.
  • Ability to develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience designing or supporting high-voltage transmission lines and associated infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of transmission structures, conductors, hardware, clearances, loading criteria, and related components.
  • Ability to read and develop plan/profile drawings, engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and engineering problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting projects through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of electric utility engineering practices and applicable industry standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams and with external consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to perform periodic field work in utility and construction environments.
  • Senior Engineer (Level IV) qualifications typically include approximately 6–9+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience, advanced transmission line design knowledge, demonstrated ability to lead engineering activities for medium- to large-scale capital projects, and experience improving standards and specifications.
  • Lead Engineer (Level V) qualifications typically include approximately 10+ years of progressively responsible transmission or power delivery engineering experience, expert-level transmission line design knowledge, leadership of technically complex or strategically significant projects, and experience establishing engineering standards and technical requirements.
