About The Position
Growing full service firm looking to add a talented Transmission Line QA/QC Engineer to their Pittsburgh office! This role involves overseeing design reviews, ensuring the accuracy and safety of high voltage transmission line designs using PLS-CADD, establishing quality standards, developing quality control procedures, mentoring junior staff, and championing QA/QC processes. The engineer will also communicate with project managers to align quality goals with project schedules and budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or engineering technology
- 5+ years of transmission engineering experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Proficient in PLS CADD
- Expert in the analysis of transmission structures
- Ability to comprehend and interpret safety codes, utility standards and regulations
- Ability to optimize complex systems and workflows
- Ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and drive cross-functional collaboration
- Valid Driver’s License is required
- Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Oversee design reviews/validation procedures
- Ensure accuracy and safety of the design of high voltage transmission lines using PLS-CADD
- Establish quality standards aligned with industry best practices
- Develop/implement quality control procedures
- Mentor/train junior staff with varying levels of experience
- Champion QA/QC processes to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality engineering outputs
- Communicate with project managers to align quality goals with schedule/budget
