This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days remote. The position allows for direct application of transmission line engineering knowledge, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles. Responsibilities include designing transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV, performing structural and foundation analysis and design for various structure types, conducting conductor selection, shielding, grounding, and induction studies. The role also involves developing cost estimates and schedules, preparing specifications for materials and construction, specifying transmission line components, modeling lines in PLS-CADD, determining right-of-way requirements, calculating conductor sags, developing plan and profile drawings, and reviewing vendor submittals. Additionally, there is an expectation to utilize modern tools like automation and AI to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. This may include building or using automation for calculations, summarizing documents, or drafting designs, with a strong emphasis on engineering judgment and verification.
